The Kannon Compassion Initiative is a Registered Charitable Trust and Rev. Nio has donated all of his assets to the same for the benefit of humanity. He is also working with various social service leaders and innovators on ways to make an even bigger impact all over the world.

Rev. Nio has also been cited favorably in a United Nations Report as an authentic voice for the peoples of Japan, China, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, North Korea and all of Asia and his work contributed to Canada's receiving a special award from the United Nations Interfaith Harmony Week. Here Rev. Nio is pictured with his close friend Dr. Karin Achtelstetter - Dr. Rev. Karin Achtelstetter is the Executive Director of Canadian Lutheran World Relief and a member of the Augusta Victoria Hospital Advisory Board -- a major landmark in Jerusalem on the sacred Mount of Olives. Karin also attends the United Nations Interagency Task Force on Religion and Development.  She has a unique background in being both a Lutheran Minister as well as having pursued Jewish Studies. Further, Karin conducted a landmark radio interview with Concentration Camp Prisoner No. 1 and has served on a Cannes Film Festival jury.
