Promoting healing for victims of residential schools
With First Nations elder Kim Wheatley
Zenji Nio is committed to working with First Nations elders in empowering victims of residential schools and helping the First Nations communities preserve their ancient culture and traditions.
As Japanese Buddhists were also subjected to internment camps and schools where they were forced to abandon their Buddhist heritage, Nio shares the pain of First Nations communities and is interested in helping their youth hold on to their heritage.
The Compassion Initiative actively promotes the empowerment of all victims of oppression in all forms of all peoples and communities.
